  After a gap of at least three years since my last eye test I knew that the day had come that would end in "yes you need glasses" . I am scrunching my eyes to peer at the TV and probably would struggle to read the three car lengths requirement for the DVLA. I was met by a young lass who greeted me and did the preliminary eye tests, visual fields, retina and puffer tests. She was very sweet and explained each step of her examination . I was taken back to the waiting room for just a few moments till I was collected by the optician . I cannot recall her name either, although she introduced herself . She was very patient as it took several option " this one or this one" for my descision. I felt confident that she had done a thorough job. She felt that I really did need glasses now , especially for driving. She talked me through the options of two pairs, one reading, one driving, watching rugby etc or bifocals. I opted for the single pair and she took me back to the waiting room and introduced me to Sarah . Sarah went through the bifocal options and I decided on the platinum ,or was it diamond ? Anyhow we then started looking at frames. I texted a friend who had come to Emersons Green with me to come and help. Between us I think we tried dozens before narrowing the choice to three. We all concurred that one pair was " me" . Back to the chair whilst Sarah worked out where the centre of the lens was , my nose isnt in the middle of my face? Or is one ear higher than the other? Anyway Sarah input her conclusions into the computer then asked her manager Julie to check all was correct. Julie did and confirmed all was good. I was the told that I would get a 25% discount with my Boots card! And today was triple points! I go back in ten days to pick up my specs. I was impressed with the service I received, the department was busy but I wasnt rushed at any stage. I felt that Sarah really wanted me to get specs that suited me, she was endlessly patient. Well done Boots!!
